Golf Fuel Review

Imagine taking a pill to improve your golf game.

Sounds ridiculous doesn’t it?

But that’s exactly what a company (Golf Fuel, LLC) from Austin, Texas has claimed to do.

The product is called Golf Fuel. And they claim it will…

[red_tick_list width=”100%”]
  • Add more power for enhanced distance with your woods and irons
  • Boost body balance, hand-eye coordination and reflex time to reduce costly errors like hooks, slices, and mis-hits
  • Create razor-sharp mental focus and concentration to lock in short and long game accuracy
  • Boost lasting stamina for 18 holes of energy
[/red_tick_list]

They say it’s like a highly powerful brain vitamin to improve hand-eye coordination, boost mental alertness and focus, and increase driving strength. Here’s a quote from them on why they designed this…

[features_box_grey width=”75%” + border=”2px”][headline_georgia_small_left color=”#000000″]“Golf Fuel is designed to support optimal neurotransmitter levels in your body. Neurotransmitters are “brain messengers” that control things like body power, focus, balance, concentration, and coordination. If these levels are low, you may be experiencing “neurotransmitter burnout,” and your swing won’t be up to par. You can feel tired, weak, frustrated, and lack concentration. However, when neurotransmitter levels are optimal, research indicates you may experience a boost in performance levels. This can result in a more consistent swing!”[/headline_georgia_small_left]

So what exactly is in Golf Fuel and will it help you to improve your golf game?

Well, here are a list of ingredients in this pill:

  • Acetyl-L-Carnitine
  • DMAE
  • Green Tea Extract
  • Phosphatidylserine
  • Rhodiola Rosea
  • Bacopa Monnieri
  • N-Acetyl Tyrosine
  • Sulbutiamine
  • Ginkgo Biloba
  • Caffeine Anhydrous
  • Huperzine A

So let’s go through and see what each of these ingredients supposedly does for us. And I could have spent days searching the net for this but to save time I have used Wikipedia (unless stated otherwise). It’s probably not 100% accurate but it gives a good overview on each of these ingredients. And I have hand picked these statements from Wikipedia that would possibly benefit us golfers. Feel free to further research these ingredients if you so wish:

[content_box_yellow width=”75%”]

Golf Fuel Ingredient #1 – Acetyl-L-Carnitine

“ALCAR has the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and get to the brain blood circulation, where it acts as a powerful antioxidant, which helps in prevention of the brain cells’ deterioration. Its supplementation has been shown to be neuroprotective in instances of cerebral ischemia in rats and may be useful in treating peripheral nerve injury as well as spinal cord injury. It may have some neuroprotective benefit in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, but further research is required.”

Golf Fuel Ingredient #2 – DMAE

“Short-term studies have shown an increase in vigilance and alertness with a positive influence on mood following administration of DMAE, vitamins, and minerals in individuals suffering from borderline emotional disturbance.”

Golf Fuel Ingredient #3 – Green Tea Extract

“Over the last few decades green tea has been subjected to many scientific and medical studies to determine the extent of its long-purported health benefits, with some evidence suggesting that regular green tea drinkers may have a lower risk of developing heart disease and certain types of cancer. Although green tea does not raise the metabolic rate enough to produce immediate weight loss, a green tea extract containing polyphenols and caffeine has been shown to induce thermogenesis and stimulate fat oxidation, boosting the metabolic rate 4% without increasing the heart rate.”

Golf Fuel Ingredient #4 – Phosphatidylserine

“Phosphatidylserine has been demonstrated to speed up recovery, prevent muscle soreness, improve well-being, and might possess ergogenic properties in athletes involved in cycling, weight training and endurance running.”

Also, when I did research into this substance I found a research document did a study on golfers taking this. And the golfers were given 6 weeks of phosphatidylserine supplementation. The study found a significant improvement in the number of good tee offs. This was from “The effect of phosphatidylserine on golf performance” in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition 4: 23.

Golf Fuel Ingredient #5 – Rhodiola Rosea

“Rhodiola rosea may be effective for improving mood and alleviating depression. Pilot studies on human subjects showed that it improves physical and mental performance, and may reduce fatigue.”

Golf Fuel Ingredient #6 – Bacopa Monnieri

“Research has shown that not only can it improve memory, it can also increase reaction time and learning. Also, it has been shown to stimulate the growth of neurons, reduce anxiety, reduce effects of acute and chronic stress and it can enhance immune function.”

Golf Fuel Ingredient #7 – N-Acetyl Tyrosine

“A number of studies have found tyrosine to be useful during conditions of stress, cold, fatigue, loss of a loved one such as in death or divorce, prolonged work and sleep deprivation, with reductions in stress hormone levels, reductions in stress-induced weight loss seen in animal trials, improvements in cognitive and physical performance seen in human trials.”

Golf Fuel Ingredient #8 – Sulbutiamine

“Several studies have shown that sulbutiamine improves memory through the potentiation of cholinergic, dopaminergic, and glutamatergic transmission.”

Golf Fuel Ingredient #9 – Ginkgo Biloba

“Ginkgo is believed to have nootropic properties, and is mainly used as memory[34] and concentration enhancer, and anti-vertigo agent. However, studies differ about its efficacy.”

Golf Fuel Ingredient #10 – Caffeine

“Caffeine is a central nervous system and metabolic stimulant, and is used both recreationally and medically to reduce physical fatigue and to restore alertness when drowsiness occurs. It produces increased wakefulness, faster and clearer flow of thought, increased focus, and better general body coordination. The amount of caffeine needed to produce effects varies from person to person, depending on body size and degree of tolerance. Effects begin less than an hour after consumption, and a moderate dose usually wears off in about five hours.”

Golf Fuel Ingredient #11 – Huperzine A

“In the US, Huperzine A is sold as a dietary supplement for memory support. The botanical has been used in China for centuries for the treatment of swelling, fever and blood disorders. Clinical trials in China have shown it to be effective in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and enhancing memory in students.”

That’s what Wikipedia say about these substances. Now here’s Golf Fuel’s take on 7 of these substances and why they are in this pill…

[content_box_light_green width=”75%”]

#1: Phosphatidylserine (PS)

Over 3,000 Published Research Studies and Over 60 Clinical Trials have proven that the Brain-Nutrient Phosphatidylserine can quickly rejuvenate the brain and dramatically improve concentration, memory and your ability to handle stressful situations. Better focus and less stress will help boost your accuracy and result in lower scores. You see, PS increases two neurotransmitters called Acetlycholine and Dopamine that are essential to helping you play your best golf. Notice in this chart how these neurotransmitter levels decrease with age… But then increase when you take the correct amount of PS. tyrosine

#2: N Acetyl Tyrosine

This is an amino acid that has been shown in a pilot study to temporarily boost muscular power output by 283%. What’s more, studies conducted by the U.S. military indicate this nutrient can “delay fatigue and increase both mental and physical performance in soldiers under stressful situations.” In fact, the Air Force’s Warfighter Fatigue Countermeasures Program is administering this nutrient to keep fighter pilots sharp and alert during long night missions over the Middle East. If it helps our military focus during life and death situations, it can certainly help us sink that long putt on 18 for the win.

#3: Acetyl-L-Carnatine

(ALC) is a natural amino acid that positively affects anabolic hormones (like testosterone) that can add muscle, reduce fat, and enhance recovery from exercise. Maybe even more impressive is that ALC can regenerate damaged neurons (brain cells). ALC has been shown to significantly improve such performance parameters as attention level, hand-eye coordination, and reflex speed in its users. Scientists also found that people taking ALC made four times fewer “mental mistakes” than a group who didn’t take ALC. Making four times fewer mental mistakes in golf would certainly slash strokes from your score and save you loads of frustration.

#4: DMAE

This is a precursor to the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. It supports millions of neuromuscular junctions, which are areas where nerves connect with a muscle to give it the “brain signal” needed to fire and move. This support can help improve balance, coordination, and optimal muscular force. Studies have also indicated that DMAE can reduce the buildup of cellular garbage in brain cells, which likely explains its effects on alertness and concentration.

#5: Huperzine A

This is derived from the Chinese herb Huperzia serrate. Research indicates it may amplify the duration of the signals between brain cells to increase memory, mental focus, and overall brain function. This is why scientists are using it as a tool to treat Alzheimer’s disease. Huperzine has also been used successfully as part of a treatment program to increase brain function for retired NFL athletes with brain damage. The benefits of Huperzine A are believed to be through the inhibition of the acetylcholinesterase enzyme. This provides more of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine to stimulate the brain. This is enhanced by green tea. For golfers, this has multiple implications. The first is that acetylcholine is the chemical messenger sent by the nervous system to get muscles to contract when you swing a club. More acetylcholine means more work can be done with more force. This could have a very positive effect on your driving distance.

#6: Bacopa Monniera

This is an Ayurvedic herbal plant. Studies published in Psychopharmacology, Neuropsychopharmacology, and Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine demonstrate that Bacopa can improve memory and other cognitive functions in humans. Bacopa has been shown to reduce anxiety. For golfers, anxiety can be a major detriment to performance. Having a tool that can help reduce anxiety and make it easier to learn is invaluable to any golfer looking to improve his or her performance.powdered ginkgo

#7: Ginkgo Biloba

This is one of the oldest and most popular Chinese herbs studied. The reason why golfers are interested in this herb is because it can dramatically protect the nervous system against stress and it can reduce the increase in cortisol that occurs with physical and mental stress. Ginkgo can counter stress-induced depression and maintain enthusiasm for activity.

So what can we conclude from all of this?

Well for one, none of these substances have been found to be dangerous, which is obviously good. And two, these substances should help us to improve our golf game if they are in the correct dosages. And here’s what the Doctor behind this product had to say about this…

[content_box_paper_white width=”75%”]Doctor Thomas Incledon“Making a supplement that works is no easy task. You have to combine the right ingredients, at the right dosages, test it, review the results, make changes, test it again, and the process continues until you get the results that are satisfactory. Designing a formula to enhance golf performance is even more of a challenge. You want to improve coordination and balance which involves facilitating signals in the nervous system, but at the same time you don’t want to overstimulate the nervous and make someone’s hands shake. If that happens, say “so long” to your driving accuracy and you can kiss your short game good bye. What we attempted to do with Golf Fuel, is make a product that as people take it, their golf game improves with no side effects. The available evidence that I have been able to review so far actually indicates that the longer you take this formula the better your results will be.”

So when you first hear about a golf pill being able to improve your golf game it seems ridiculous, but then after doing some research into the ingredients it seems like it might just work.

[headline_arial_small_left color=”#000000″]And here’s the thing that really got my attention…[/headline_arial_small_left]

Once you get older than 35, your natural neurotransmitter levels start to fall off rapidly, regardless of your daily stress levels or diet. And this means you can expect to see a decrease in your power, distance, focus, and accuracy with each passing year.

But that’s what Golf Fuel is designed to help rectify.

Now I bet if you did a survey on PGA Tour pros you’d find almost all of them are taking some supplements. Even if it’s just a sports drink.

So why should the average golfer be any different?

In fact, the average golfer probably needs supplements more than a pro.

But is Golf Fuel safe?

Well, if you have any concerns like it says on the bottle “Consult your physician before taking it”.

But most of the ingredients are in healthy foods, just not in large enough quantities to have the effect like Golf Fuel does.

One bottle will last 25 days. Some people will notice an immediate effect taking it and others will take 30 – 60 days because their neuro-transmitters are so low.

With all of this being said, you might find it surprizing (or not) that I highly recommend golfers try Golf Fuel, especially if you’re over the age of 35. And if you suffer from any of the following you should seriously consider taking it:

[black_arrow_list width=”100%”]
  • Do you often feel aggravated and irritable in life or while playing?
  • While playing, do you often feel achy or fatigued?
  • Do your nerves cause you to mis-hit, hook, slice, or miss easy shots?
  • Do you feel uncomfortable teeing off in front of a group?
  • Do you notice small, irritating distractions while trying to focus on a shot?
  • Does your overall accuracy fluctuate wildly?
  • Do you start slow or fade after the turn?
[/black_arrow_list]

If you answered yes to any of those questions then as crazy as it sounds, a pill may be the solution you’ve been looking for. Golf Fuel comes with a 60 day money back guarantee and after a good month of use you’ll be able to tell whether it’s going to help you or not. If not, just return it and get your money back.

From the ingredients in this Golf Fuel product I can’t see how it wouldn’t help. But go here to find out more about it. And if you’re already taking supplements why not take one that can improve your golf game?

Overall Opinion: Highly Recommended

Like Peter Hansen in New Zealand, they don’t appear to offer it to Golfers in Australia either.

Please advise when special deal is to be offered over here in the land of OZ

Hi Bernie, I think they don’t ship to Australia because of some regulations in that country. Sorry about that. Jeff
