The Best Golf Swing Speed Tip For Impact
Increasing your golf swing speed will only result in longer drives IF you swing faster at impact. If you increase your golf swing speed but the fastest you swing is not at impact then the increased swing speed is wasted. So in this article I’m going to give you a great little golf drill that will help you to swing fastest right where it matters… at impact!
To do this golf drill get out your driver and setup to an imaginary golf ball. Then start your backswing but only do this at 10-15% of your normal backswing pace. Once you get to the top of your backswing start your downswing as you normally would but again, do this at 10-15% of your normal swing speed.
So essentially you’re swinging back and down in slow motion. But then when your golf club is about 2 feet away from the place where your imaginary golf ball is I want you to then swing as fast as you possibly can until the finish of your golf swing.
Now when you do this I want you to follow-through so quickly that the golf club hits you on your back at the end of your swing. To help create more speed in your swing you need to make a conscious effort when doing this golf drill to swing as fast as you possibly can.
You should do about 10 swings like that every day for at least 21 days. Why 21 days? Because it has been scientifically proven that it takes at least 21 days to form a new habit. And this new habit will help you to swing as fast as possible right where it matters… at impact! Naturally that will lead to longer golf drives and lower scores.
