Best Tip for Longer Drives
I could give you 100 tips to hit the ball longer.
But today, I’m going to give you just one.
Why just one?
Because if you actually focus on this, this year — and you improve this one skill — you will hit the golf ball longer and more consistently.
That one skill is NOT hitting the exact middle of the clubface with your driver.
That might sound strange… but here’s why.
It’s been proven that when golfers strike the driver slightly high on the face and slightly toward the toe, they often gain 5–15 yards compared to a dead-center strike.
Why?
• Slightly higher impact reduces spin
• Toe strike creates gear effect that adds distance
• Modern drivers are designed to launch and spin best from that area

In other words — the longest part of the face is not the center.
Now… knowing this is one thing.
Being able to do it consistently is another.
So here’s how you practice it properly.
Whenever you hit balls with your driver, use impact stickers or foot spray on the clubface so you know exactly where you’re striking the ball.
But — and this is important — do NOT try to hit the ball high-toe every time.
That’s not the skill.
The real skill is clubface awareness and control.
If you want to be able to hit the ball slightly high-toe on command, you should also be able to hit it:
• slightly low on the face
• slightly toward the heel
If you can’t do that, you’re not in control of where the ball is striking the face.
So when you practice with your driver, deliberately try to hit balls on different parts of the face.
Then — at the end of the session — try to find that slightly high, slightly toe-side strike.
That’s how you build the skill.
Swinging faster is fine… but if you’re hitting the wrong part of the face, you’re leaking distance.
Master impact location, and distance becomes easier — not harder.
That’s one of the most important things you can work on this year if you want longer drives.
