Today was the day when I was going to do my golf swing speed test after the last 4 weeks. But I have postponed the test until next Monday. Why? Because the training I have been doing for the last 4 weeks has not involved any fast swinging of a golf club. So to see if what I have been doing for the last 4 weeks has helped me to swing faster I am going to be doing flexibility stuff and fast swinging for the next 6 days.
It should be interesting to see the results next week. But before then I will say this…I have kept track of the training I’ve been doing over the last 4 weeks and I have improved a lot in the one area I’ve been focusing on. So hopefully it should help me to swing faster….but we’ll see next Monday.

Hi Nick,
2.15am here in Ireland.
Just watched your video regarding Greg Norman’s pre-shot routine speeding up.
Being Irish obviously, I hope Padraig Harrington wins the Open again. However, Greg is a personal hero for me and if Padraig can’t do it…
Onto my golf; your video rings bells because I played 18 holes yesterday under little pressure (scramble with partners that are society golfers – not Club golfers) and played beyond my expectations – would have had 40+ points stableford..
on a course I did not know and had to take a mesaured approach.
Today I played in a club (my club!) competition and rushed my pre-shot routine because I played with faster/more competent companions.
Result? played one over my handicap and I play off 14.
Still good yes, but I did most definitely not strike the ball as sweetly and certainly felt the prepartion was rushed.
The lesson? Don’t compromise on your time – be efficient but do not rush your pre-shot routine.
This video, to me, is invaluable and thanks for it.
Tommy
