I have just completed a new golf swing speed test today. If you remember, the last golf swing speed test I completed was on the 21st of July 2008. You can see that here.

Now to be honest I was quite shocked with the result of this golf swing speed test (watch the video of this test below)…

As you’ve just watched, I averaged 115.7 mph today. I was surprised it was that high because I am not really transferring my weight through to my left side 100% on the follow-through due to my injured left knee.

Luckily I didn’t need surgery for my knee like Tiger Woods has needed but it’s still taking a while to recover.  So I’d hate to think how Tiger is going to come back after his injury.  I did read the other day Tiger saying that he expects it to be 2 years before his knee is back to 100%.  And after my recent experience I can believe that.

But knowing Tiger he’ll guts it out for some great results no matter what.

Anyway, over the next month I’m going to keep strengthening up my entire body (especially my knee ) and after the next golf swing speed test, which is on the 3rd November, I will start focusing exclusively on speed exercises to try and reach my 125 mph + goal by the end of 2008.

  1. Nick,
As you no doubt remember Ben Hogan played some of his best golf after the auto/bus accident when his legs were much weaker than normal. Maybe having an injured left knee is helping your balance and turn.
    Just wondering.

  2. Looks like your doing great. Just don’t lock that left knee trying for that extra snap and speed. ACL injuries are a real bummer.

  3. Thanks Harvey. I am being real careful not to lock the left knee. It’s funny because in Tiger Woods book he talks about doing that to get some extra yards. Maybe that’s the reason for his knee injury now or maybe it was the heavy squats??

  4. Nick,
Looking good, but what happened on the 3rd drive (frustration seemed to kick in but the video stopped)?

  5. Hi John,

That was just a big of fast forwarding. I don’t think I was annoyed. :-)
