You may have heard that having your lower body still when putting helps to improve putting consistency. If you’ve heard this and wondered whether it’s true or not here’s my take on this…
It’s true that you want your lower body to be as still as possible when you putt because the less movement you can have when putting the less that can go wrong. Also, the less moving parts naturally the more putting consistency you’ll have.
Now here is a very simple but very effective way to lock your lower body in place when putting. Simply point your toes of both feet in towards each other like this…

Doing this automatically locks your lower body in place. And also it helps if you have quite a wide putting stance as this further helps to build stability. Try this simple technique and you’ll be amazed at the newly found soundness your stroke has and your improved putting consistency.
