If you’re not sure how to set goals to improve your golf game here’s what you need to do…

First and foremost you must write your goal down in your own handwriting.  Doing this will help bring the goal/dream into reality and the act of writing your goal down will create an indelible impression in your memory.

The goal that you set should be slightly out of reach, so that you have to push yourself to achieve your goal.  When setting goals don’t get so obsessed with attaining the goal and waiting until you’ve achieved it to be happy.  Enjoy the journey because goal setting is not really so much about achievement, it’s more about growing as a human being and learning.

If you continue to learn and improve then you’ll enjoy golf and life.  When you stop learning and improving it’s time to either die or start setting some goals.  No matter what’s happened in the past it doesn’t matter.  Today is your chance to make a fresh start, and hey, today’s all you’ve got so make the most of it, and remember to enjoy the journey.

Next you must set yourself a deadline for the attainment of your goal.  This is a very important step because if you set a goal without time constraints you’ll have very little motivation to get moving.  So here’s a summary of how you can use goal setting to improve your golf game.

1. Set goals that are slightly out of reach and write your goal down in your own hand writing.

2. Put a dead line on when you want to achieve your goal by.

3. Take action.

4. Notice whether your actions are getting you closer to or further away from your goal and change your approach until you succeed.

5. Have fun each and every day!
