Here’s exactly what you should do if you…
a) want to relax before your golf shots, and
b) want to play as well as you can on a consistent basis.
Simply incorporate some breathing into your pre-shot routine. Now ideally you should do this breathing when you are standing behind your golf ball visualizing your golf shot, but experiment and see what works best for you.
Now when you do this breathing before a golf shot you should do it in a certain way, because you’ll get better results. And I suggest you do something called diaphragm breathing before your golf shots, and to do this follow these instructions…
1. Stand behind your golf ball and visualize the golf shot you want to hit.
2. Now take smooth, consistent breaths in through your nose for about 3-4 seconds, and as you are breathing in, make sure your stomach is going out and your shoulders are not going up.
3. Once you’ve taken a full breath let the air out slowly and consistently through your mouth.
If you do this before every golf shot you won’t believe how much your consistency and enjoyment improves as a result. Give it a try and keep doing it so it becomes part of your routine for every single golf shot. If you do, you’ll be relaxed and ready for every golf shot!
