Although there are many reasons why golfers lose concentration over golf shots and many ways to improve your concentration, here’s a fun way to do it that will not only improve your concentration, but also improve your feel for the clubhead and strength in your wrist.

So what’s this drill?

Well, no doubt you’ve seen the Tiger Woods TV ad where he juggles a golf ball on his club and does lots of other tricks and then at the end he hits the ball with a full swing baseball style?…

Don’t worry I’m not going to ask you to do the last part (although when you get good at this you can certainly try that), but the juggling of the ball on a clubface is very beneficial to you.

So, to improve your concentration and hand eye co-ordination all you have to do is learn to juggle the ball on the clubface and keep practicing everyday so you get better.  The better you get, the longer you can juggle a ball, and the more tricks you can do, the more your concentration and hand eye coordination will improve.  Your golf game has to improve as a result.

If you’ve never juggled a ball on a golf club use a high lofted club like a Sand Wedge, and with the ball lying on the ground put the face’s toe under the ball and give it a quick flick up so it gets the ball in the air.  Start off with little bounces and work your way up to higher ones. Here’s another video showing you Seve Ballesteros juggling the ball with some added tricks…

Attempt to copy the routine Tiger does.  Then try the one Seve does.  Once you can do them your concentration would’ve not only improved immensely, but you’ll also have a cool trick to show off.  What a deal!!
